This vinaigrette features a blooming rose in relief on the front cover, along with finely chased supporting decoration. It comes with a piece of sponge, but does not appear to be used. It is quite clean underneath the grille. The box hinge and grille hinge both work fine. Box opens and closes properly. One dent on the right corner of the top lid. Light scratches on the surface.Overall this vinaigrette is in excellent condition.
This vinaigrette came from a large collection of antique vinaigrettes and nutmeg graters I found in a local estate sale. The owner kindly presented prior receipts, from which I learnt that the collection was acquired from various jewelers and antique dealers in the last 25 years.
