    Description

    Presented is a great antique English sterling silver vinaigrette box made by
    William Simpson.  The round/watch shaped box has a monogram of MJK at the center
    surrounded with elegant machine turnings.  The interior of the box is covered
    with a gold wash.  There is a removable pierced liner on the interior as shown.
    The box is marked on the interior with the anchor for the city of Birmingham,
    the date letter ‘L’ for 1834, and a maker’s mark of WS for William Simpson.
    The condition is excellent.  There are no dents, no splits, no breaks, and no
    repairs.
    The vinaigrette measures 1 1/4 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick.
    The weight is 15.9 grams or 0.6 ounces.
