Vintage 1964-1965 Hagstrom Futurama Bass II Red~Ex Tom Keifer of Cinderella Fame
    Product description
Vintage 1964-1965 Hagstrom Futurama Bass II Red~Ex Tom Keifer of Cinderella Fame
Now, here is something that should pique your interest. Not only does this listing include a Vintage 1960's Hagstrom Futurama Bass II with a clean, albeit used, original red finish, with tons of fat bass tone, but it is also the bass that was played and once owned by none other than Tom Keifer, American born vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter/front man for the famous 1980s hair metal band, Cinderella. We will include signed proof of provenance in the form of a signed letter by Toms' ex-wife, Emily Keifer Jackson, which will be included with the instrument upon transfer of ownership. So, we have a highly collectible, gig worthy, awesome looking instrument with tons of real mojo along with authentic historic value, according to the specific family history. Definitely not an axe that one finds every day.
As for the bass itself, it is a short-scale instrument, being 30" long and featuring a solid, lacquered wood body with tons of legitimate play wear. A REAL honest to goodness relic! To the best of our knowledge, all parts and components are original. We just got this back from our luthier after some intensive cleaning and a full pro set-up to ensure many years of enjoyment for the next owner.

ALL ITEMS ARE SOLD IN AS-IS CONDITION
All of our instruments sold are in complete, working condition. This instrument was professionally inspected, repaired & given a pro set-up by one of our favorite luthiers/guitarists/composers/teacher & fantastic all around human being as well as the co-founder of April Mae & The Junebugs, Dave "Catfish" Fecca of Dave Fecca Guitar Repair located in Moorestown, NJ...so this axe is ready to rip!
    CONDITION:
Instrument is in very good player grade condition, in our opinion. This axe has literally seen 1000's of hours of play time and play wear. Our luthier gave this a full pro set-up, including fretboard polishing, adjusting the neck/action/ and intonation, fret buffing, and cleaning all of the electronics to make certain that the pickup switches, mute button and single volume pot were in full, working order.
Cosmetically, the guitar has some assorted dings, chips, etc primarily along the body and edges of the guitar. There is some surface cracking on the bass as well, but our luthier tested them and did not feel the need to stabilize anything since they appeared to be surface cracks that were already stable. Most, if not all, of the finish on the rear of the neck is worn away or has been removed. Neck is very smooth, fast playing & touch sensitive. That being said, none of these cosmetic issues affect the playability of the instrument whatsoever and it still rips. What unbelievable tones this little monster is capable of! Please see the attached photos for specific state of condition.
    DIMENSIONS:
    Body is approximately 43 3/8" long x 12 5/8" wide x 7/8" deep; scale length is 30" long x 1 1/2" wide at the 1st fret, 2" wide at the 12th fret, & 2 1/8" wide at the 17th fret. Nut measures 1 7/16" wide.
Guitar weighs in at 6 lbs, 15 oz.
    NOTES:
This instrument is ready to play in any capacity the player wishes. This instrument would give a great deal of pleasure to a collector, a player, or a professional.
