By Danelectro, this Silvertone 1444 bass is one of the most unique-sounding basses available. The composite hollowbody construction makes for a heavy bass tone. This 1444 produced from 1959-1965 was the bass counterpart to the 1416 guitar and was built by Danelectro in Neptune NJ. It has the Dolphin headstock and an in-line turner with the lipstick tube pickup. Plays and sounds great! Very beautiful vintage electric bass guitar. Included is a custom made wood insert for the bridge (already installed and it provides incredibly fast and accurate action); you will also receive the original wood insert and it is easy to switch these if you wanted to (see picture). It is strung with flatwound strings that feel smooth and are an enjoyment to play.
